An Inspiring Visit

It was such a delight visiting the Freedom Foundation Center, the charity supported by the Northern Lights, one of the venues of Mahjong for Charity.

Anu gave us an overview of the impactful work done by the foundation and how our contribution consistently benefits these kids in a small but steady way. Meeting them, aged 8 to 16, was so joyous it just lit up our hearts. We gained insights into their routines, school life, and activities. The kids' creativity and zest for life, with the help of their support team, was very inspiring.

A few words from the Freedom Foundation:

We’re currently taking in around 100 children and families in our centre and community, providing them with medicine, nutrition, and education support.

Unfortunately, these children are immune-compromised, and they need extra care and protection. We’re at an increased demand for taking in more HIV-positive children, but our lack of committed funding limits our ability to provide the necessary care. We urgently need funds to improve the quality of life for these orphaned children living with HIV/AIDS.
